Following last month’s contract win in China, OneSubsea, a joint venture backed by SLB, Aker Solutions and Subsea7, has secured a contract with Texas-based Beacon Offshore Energy (BOE) Exploration and Production for a deepwater field in the Gulf of America.

Under the contract, OneSubsea will deliver a high‑pressure, high‑temperature (HPHT) multiphase boosting system for the Shenandoah field , said to be engineered to operate above 15,000 psi, addressing operating conditions that exceed the limits of conventional subsea solutions.

According to SLB, the processing technology supports enhanced oil recovery, faster production, and increased field value for BOE.

“Our engagement with BOE began in January 2025, enabling us to design a subsea boosting solution tailored to the field’s operating conditions,” said Andreas Fjellbirkeland , Vice President, Processing Systems, SLB OneSubsea. “As operators continue to invest in deepwater projects in the Gulf of America, this type of technology plays a critical role in accelerating production and improving recovery.”

Beacon began oil and natural gas production from the Shenandoah deepwater project in July 2025, from the first of four producing wells. The Shenandoah floating production system (FPS), situated on Walker Ridge 52, approximately 150 miles off the coast of Louisiana in a water depth of around 5,800 feet, has been placed into service with a nameplate capacity of 120,000 bopd and 140 mmcfd.

As for OneSubsea, the JV last month secured an integrated engineering, production, and construction (EPC) contract with China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) for subsea production systems for the deepwater Kaiping 18-1 field development in the South China Sea.

Furthermore, Subsea Integration Alliance (SIA), comprising SLB OneSubsea and Subsea7, and Petronas Suriname E&P, a subsidiary of Malaysia’s state-owned oil & gas firm Petronas, earlier this month signed a strategic collaboration agreement for field development projects in Suriname.
