Hong Kong-headquartered Venture Energy Limited, focused on the procurement and trading of clean fuels, has entered into an agreement with Shanghai Shenji Energy & Environmental Technology for the purchase of green methanol.

Under the procurement and supply agreement, Venture Energy will purchase ISCC EU-certified green methanol from Shenji Energy that fully complies with the European Union’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED).

The first shipment is scheduled for delivery and loading in the first half of 2026.

In addition to product supply, the partnership encompasses full-chain collaboration on biogas feedstock and green-fuel ISCC certificates.

Venture Energy said it would leverage the shipping resources of its parent company, Wah Kwong Maritime Transport, and Hong Kong’s strategic geographical advantage to act as a bridge between clean fuels in China and end users worldwide.

“Produced from sustainable biomass feedstocks including municipal waste, crop straw, and livestock manure, this green methanol delivers significant carbon-reduction benefits. These environmental attributes enable downstream shipping clients to meet stringent regulatory requirements, including the EU ETS (Emission Trade Scheme) and the FuelEU Maritime Regulation,” Venture Energy said.
