DeepOcean has secured a contract for the installation support of inter-array cables at the TPC offshore wind farm phase 2 (TPC-II) offshore Taiwan.

The Norwegian company’s scope encompasses the installation of inter-array cables, as well as engineering and project management services.

The offshore work will be carried out with Dong Fang Offshore using the chartered subsea vessel Orient Adventurer, which has been upgraded with two ROVs, an under-deck carousel, and a cable lay spread for subsea cable installation.

Project execution will be managed locally by DeepOcean’s offshore renewables team, with support from European cable installation specialists, DeepOcean said on April 22.

The work will commence immediately and be completed during 2026, according to the company.

The Taipower Offshore Wind Project Phase II (TPC Phase II) was one of the eleven offshore wind projects selected by the Taiwanese government in April 2018.

The 295 MW project, located 6.5–20 kilometers off Lukang in Changhua County, will feature 31 Vestas 9.5 MW turbines installed on jacket foundations. The turbines will be connected via three 66 kV inter-array cable loops to an offshore substation, with power exported to shore through three export cables.

The first jacket foundation was installed at the project site in Spring 2025, followed by the TPC-II offshore substation in August last year.
