Adura Operations, an incorporated joint venture (IJV) between the UK’s Shell and Norway’s Equinor, has selected Norwegian Shearwater GeoServices to perform ocean bottom node (OBN) seismic acquisition at its field in the UK North Sea.

Shearwater’s scope covers approximately 220 km2 of seismic acquisition at the Jackdaw field using the SW Tasman, with SW Gallien to provide source capabilities.

According to the Norwegian firm, the two-month survey will deliver high-resolution OBN data to support reservoir understanding across the field.

“We look forward to working with Adura on this OBN project. The award reinforces Shearwater’s leading position in the global OBN market and its long-standing technical capability to serve operators in the basin,” said Irene Waage Basili , CEO of Shearwater.

Adura was set up in December 2025 by combining Shell and Equinor’s offshore oil & gas operations on the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS). The JV assumed interests in 12 producing assets and projects in execution, including Mariner, Rosebank, Buzzard, Shearwater, Penguins, Gannet, Nelson, Pierce, Jackdaw, Victory, Clair and Schiehallion.
