Following newly signed contracts with a combined value of approximately $6 million, Norway’s Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) is preparing a former seismic vessel for an upcoming controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) campaign in Norwegian waters.
EMGS reported on June 16 that it was rigging the vessel Atlantic, a former seismic vessel previously known as Sanco Atlantic, with the work to be performed in collaboration with Sea Shipping, the vessel’s owner.
The rigging and mobilization work is being carried out at Green Yard, with Sea Shipping to support EMGS with vessel capability and marine operations.
“We are very pleased to be rigging a new vessel and moving into this next phase for EMGS,” said Bjørn Petter Lindhom , CEO of EMGS. “With new owners, a strong vessel partner, and renewed activity offshore Norway, we are building a more flexible platform for CSEM acquisition. The Norway campaign is an important start, but the broader trend we see is international.”
