Danish power cable manufacturer and installation firm NKT has completed the expansion of its medium-voltage (MV) power cable production facility in Asnaes, Denmark, where cable production has been ongoing since 1965.
The expansion works began in September 2024 and include a new production hall, new production and test facilities and enhancements to the overall production flow. Ramp-up of output will continue in the coming months.
Furthermore, over 100 new employees have joined Asnaes as a result of the factory expansion, bringing the site to approximately 300 employees.
“The completion of this investment marks an important milestone for NKT and strengthens our ability to support our customers in developing and modernising their power infrastructure,” said Carlos Fernandez , Executive Vice President, Head of Distribution at NKT.
“With the expanded facility in Asnaes, we enhance our ability to deliver high-quality cable solutions while maintaining a strong focus on safety, sustainability and operational excellence. The investment also supports local employment and reinforces Denmark’s role as an important centre for NKT’s medium-voltage production.”
An inauguration ceremony and celebration will take place at the site in August.
