Greek Hellenic Cables, the cables segment of Belgium-headquartered Cenergy Holdings, has achieved qualification of its 525 kV HVDC XLPE cable systems for both submarine and underground applications.
The qualification covers cable systems designed for continuous operation at 80°C using XLPE insulation technology.
The submarine system was qualified in accordance with CIGRE Technical Brochure 852, while the underground system complies with CIGRE Technical Brochure 852 and IEC 62895, confirming the reliability and performance of the cable systems under the most demanding international testing requirements, Hellenic Cables reported.
