On Thursday the 8th of October the trade fair and seminar Offshore Energy will take place. This business-to-business exhibition is fully focused on offshore energy, related products and services. Offshore Energy was created by market demand. The Netherlands are a reasonable player in the international offshore industry but until last year didn’t have a specific offshore trade fair. With the initiative taken by Development Company Holland North, Navingo decided to organize a trade fair. October 8th will be the second edition. The Old Navy Yard Willemsoord in Den Helder was chosen again as the location for the exhibition. Not only the city itself but also the geographic location are a reason more and more offshore companies have settled here. Even though the Netherlands plays a smaller role in the North Sea offshore industry than the United Kingdom, there are hundreds of offshore related companies active in this branch.
Many new exhibitors on Offshore Energy 2009 The organization is expecting more than 100 exhibitors this year and has increased the exhibition floor. Almost 90 companies have yet signed up as exhibitors, with resonant names such as Cofely Oil & Gas, Vroon Offshore Services, Damen Shipyards Group, Workfox, Kongsberg Maritime Holland and Peterson SBS. It is also good to see that many companies that were at the exhibition as visitors last year have chosen to take part this year. It shows that the offshore sector, despite the economic recess, is still going strong.
The second edition of Offshore Energy can once again depend of the support of several branch organizations this year. In addition to the IRO, Holland Shipbuilding, NOGEPA and the Organization of Dredgers wish the trade fair well. A trade delegation from NOF Energy, branch organization of the United Kingdom, will be present at the exhibition to lay down and strengthen the foundation for international trading contacts in the branch.
Seminar Innovations at Offshore Energy This year also an interesting seminar will take place in Studio 62. Recently it has become known that Mr. Hans P. de Boer, director of IRO will be chairman for the day. The program is yet to be decided but among others Wagenborg Offshore, Technip-EGP and TNO will be conducting a lecture. The seminar contains lectures with various subjects such as actual developments in the offshore and energy industries, diverse topics and research in the offshore sector and the investments and technological developments in the field of sustainable energy onshore and offshore.
