‘New’ Damco independent of Maersk Line

The “new” Damco will operate independently of sister company Maersk Line and has not been spun off as a prelude to a sale by cash-strapped parent group AP Moller-Maersk, CEO Rolf Habben-Jansen insisted last week.

Speaking exclusively to IFW to mark the official re-launch of Damco – which now incorporates Maersk Logistics – he said AP Moller-Maersk had charged his management team with doubling the size of the company within five years, not readying it for a sale.
