Petrobras, Brazil, has proved the occurrence of another oil and gas field in the pre-salt reservoir of block BM-S-9, in ultra-deep Santos Basin waters. The discovery was made via well 4-SPS-66C (4-BRSA-723C), informally denominated as Abaré Oeste and located in the assessment area of 1-SPS-50 (Carioca), some 290km off the coast of the State of São Paulo, at 2,163 metres from the water line.
