Evergreen’s introduction of a peak season surcharge from Asia to Europe, imposed August 1, will now extend from October 31 to December 31 to protect its own space while global capacity continues to wane.

The westbound trade from the Far East and the Indian subcontinent to Europe and the Mediterranean will include bunker and peak season surcharges with a seasonal charge of US$175 per TEU and US$350 per FEU to be applied to all cargo and commodities, including reefers and special equipment, said a company statement.
