On 15 September, the Swedish Navy concluded its assignment in the Gulf of Aden in the EU’s Operation Atalanta. For four months, the Swedes, among other things, escorted ships transporting food and necessities for the UN’s food program to Somalia. they also arrested seven pirates in conjunction with the attempted hijacking of the Greek-flagged bulk carrier M/V Antonia. The Swedish force consisted of 152 persons, the corvettes Malmö and Stockholm and the support ship Trossö.
