Fincantieri’s first half results remain positive

Fincantieri’s Board of Directors confirmed a positive trend in terms of results with a net income of US$13.2 million. The results of the first half 2009 include, compared with the previous years, the consolidation of the US Group Manitowoc Marine Group (now Fincantieri Marine Group).

The Italy-based shipbuilder accumulated new orders amounting to US$585 million, compared to US$2 billion in the first half 2008. Fincantieri’s total order book amounted to US$14.4 billion, compared with US$17.07 billion the year before
