The Containership Company (TCC) is the name of a new company set up in Copenhagen, which will pick up and operate container vessels in the present market. “There is a lot of idle tonnage at the moment and we will negotiate with owners of these container vessels to purchase or operate the vessels”, says Jakob Tolstrup-Møller to the Danish newspaper Børsen. The company is working with a number of investors, and it is believed that Norwegian tycoon John Fredriksen is amongst them. TCC expects to be operative in 2010 if the present financial schemes and negotiations turn out well.
