Shippers increasingly want all-in rates

Further evidence has emerged that shippers are looking for all-in rates as opposed to freight rates which list supplementary charges. Gary Mansell, CEO of UK technology company Trade Extensions, which has developed an on-line tendering and procurement system for shippers, told IFW that during last year there were more carriers bidding for each tender, while shippers had switched from asking for a full breakdown of additional charges to all-in rates.
