MTN Satellite Communications (MTN), the global service provider of communications, connectivity and content services to remote locations around the world, announced today that Kerry Pettitt has joined MTN as executive sales manager for its superyacht business in Europe and Oceania regions.

“Pettitt brings strong strategic, sales, marketing and purchasing management skills sets along with over 16 years of maritime experience to elevate the MTN brand awareness in those regions,” said Derik Wagner, managing director of the yacht services business at MTN. “He will provide the ability to quickly and efficiently respond to the needs of our customers while helping to support and develop new business with MTN channel partners.”

“I think of MTN as the VSAT benchmark for the superyacht sector,” said Pettitt. “MTN’s level of focus and commitment in providing the best communications solution to the industry is remarkable. I believe it offers the best solution in the market today and that we have a great opportunity to continue strong growth in this sector.”

Prior to joining MTN, Pettitt was the general manager for the superyacht division for Ship Equip. During his tenure, he grew the company’s reputation from a virtual unknown to an established global solution provider. Pettitt has also held executive positions at Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, the Marine Contracting Association in Geneva and Stratos.
