The Dibrugarh administration today decided to dredge the Brahmaputra and remove sandbars to coax the river into taking its original course, five days after the waters began washing away chunks of soil from Nagagholee. The dredging, however, is a long-term solution. A team, led by Dibrugarh deputy commissioner G.D. Tripathi, arrived at this decision during a meeting last evening.
