Norway: Eidesvik Offshore Signs Contract with Statoil for PSV Viking Athene

Eidesvik Offshore said its subsidiary Eidesvik Shipping has signed a contract with Statoil for platform supply vessel Viking Athene.

The lease is valid until 1 April 2011 with 3 month extension option. Terms and conditions of the contract are confidential, according to the announcement. The vessel was built in 2006 .

Eidesvik Offshore is a supply, subsea, seismic and cable-laying shipping company. The fleet consists of ten supply ships, both platform supply vessels and anchor handling tug supply vessels, five subsea vessels, five seismic vessels and one cable-laying ship. All the ships are orange in color, and most of them have names starting with Viking. The company is based in Bømlo, Norway and is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. Two thirds of the company is owned by Kristian Eidesvik, who also controls the short sea shipping company Wilson.

Several of the vessels are developed by Eidesvik’s own project department in close cooperation with our business associates(clients) and naval architects.

The vessels are operated in the world wide market.
