Optimism in the Danish shipping community

“We are optimistic about the future as we see growth on most markets at the moment” says Lars Vang Christensen, Herning Shipping, and chairman of the Danish Shipowners’ Association. “If we would grade our optimism we would say the 2009 was brutal and we expect 2010 to be only hard”, says Lars Vang Christensen. Despite the continued crisis Danish shipowners had a relatively good 2009, the account on foreign currency reached DKK 140 billion (lower than the record breaking 2008 at DKK 190 billion).
