A lot of Cape Bretoners will be disappointed if Friday’s deadline passes by without a promise from the federal and provincial governments to fund a dredging project for Sydney harbour, says the Sydney and Area Chamber of Commerce.
Joyce MacDougall, president of the business group, said Wednesday the $38-million proposal has galvanized the community.
“Everybody is interested,” she said. “Lots of times there have been things … we were against in our history, but this is something people are for, and they are rallying towards it as something that is good for the area.”
