Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) intends to return to luxury passenger shipbuilding following ten years of no activity in the sector, according to the Daily Yomiuri. Working out of Nagasaki Shipyard and Machinery Works, MHI will employ 700 designers to develop more environmentally friendly ships, particularly luxury liners, despite claims in the industry that shipbuilding will exceed demand three times over by 2015.
