Two bids that had the potential to transform the Spit area of Queensland into a key yachting destination have been rejected by the state government because they were not considered to be good enough. The two bids related to a 10.5-hectare site and the plans included a 30-berth superyacht marina for craft up to 75m (246ft) as well as 400 other berths for yachts and fishing vessels.
