The University of Maine’s Advanced Engineered Wood Composites Center has designed and launched a website to provide up-to-date information regarding the DeepCwind Consortium.
The U.S. Department of Energy awarded the University of Maine $7.1 million to fund the DeepCwind Consortium National Research Program, located at UMaine. The program consists of more than 30 members, including academic institutions, industry leaders, utility companies and nonprofit organizations.
Visitors to the website may browse information about all aspects of the consortium’s research initiative, view available opportunities for students and read about current events in the state’s deep-water offshore wind energy development, according to a press release issued last week by the university.
The center is an award-winning research facility at UMaine. Over the past year, the center has been awarded nearly $40 million in funding to pursue research in deep-water offshore wind energy technology.
Habib Dagher, director of the center, is the principal researcher of the DeepCwind Consortium.
