BP oil spill leads to call for green energy

US President Barack Obama has called for a “new future” of clean energy following a visit to the Gulf of Mexico where BP’s ‘Deepwater Horizon’ continues to gush oil. Tens of thousands of barrels of oil a day have flowed into the Gulf of Mexico since a rig exploded and sank in April.
