CGG Veritas has taken delivery of a new seismic ship co-owned with Norway’s Eidesvik Shipping. Oceanic Vega, an ice-class Ulstein SX 120 design is equipped to carry up to 20 streamers at once and has been described as “..the largest and most powerful vessel of its kind,” by CGG. Initially the new survey ship will be equipped with 16 solid Sercel Sentinel streamers and acoustic and streamer steering gear supplied by Nautilus, to provide high end marine seismic survey capability.
