Mermaid announces that it has received an ‘A’ grade rating for Contractor Health Environment Safety Management ( CHESM) from Chevron Indonesia for its operations on its tender rig ‘MTR-2’.
The Chevron CHESM process establishes clear accountabilities, ensures active engagement of contractors, and provides a consistent program to eliminate health, environment and safety (HES) incidents and injuries among contractors in the journey towards Operational Excellence (OE). The ‘A’ rating is the highest rating awarded to contractors working within the operational control of Chevron global upstream organizations that meets the CHESM framework.
Chevron is Indonesia’s largest oil producer, with a total daily production averaging 485,000 barrels of liquids per day in 2009. Total average daily production of natural gas was 611 million cubic feet.
Mermaid is a leading provider of drilling and sub-sea engineering services for the offshore oil and gas industry.
