Petrobras Netherlands B.V. (PNBV), a subsidiary of Brazil’s state-owned energy giant Petrobras, has expanded its offshore footprint with exploration blocks located in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire.

Petrobras’ subsidiary has signed production sharing contracts (PSCs) for eight offshore exploration blocks with the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire and Petroci.

These PSCs cover the CI-513 , CI-600 , CI-601 , CI-602 , CI-603 , CI-605 , CI-701 , and CI-702 blocks off the African country’s coast.

The Brazilian giant, through PNBV, will have a 90% stake in the blocks as operator, while Petroci will hold the remaining 10% interest.

The company highlights that these deals secure its participation in high-potential exploration areas along the African equatorial margin.

These PSCs build on Petrobras’ recent expansion in West Africa’s oil and gas frontier, as it entered negotiations for four-block exploration contracts in Ghana’s Keta Basin.
