Perenco confirmed that a security incident occurred last in the area of the Moudi FSO, offshore Cameroon, involving army personnel and security contractors.
The incident, which is currently being investigated, tragically led to the deaths of five Cameroonian personnel, three from the Bataillon d’Intervention Rapide (BIR), a national defence force involved in the security of offshore oil & gas installations, and two civilian security contractors. Perenco extends its deepest sympathies to the families of those killed.
Perenco is currently lending all the support it can to the Cameroon authorities at this sad time and will provide further information as and when appropriate.
