CGGVeritas and BG Group have signed a Technology Cooperation Agreement (TCA) that focuses on the development and deployment of advanced seismic solutions across the E&P workflow.

Under the terms of the Agreement, the partners will collaborate on a number of high-end technology projects within BG Group’s global portfolio such as broadband acquisition and processing, complex sub-salt imaging, deep targets as well as unconventional gas.

James Faroppa, Chief Technical Officer, BG Group, said: “This is a positive step which brings together the joint talents of an experienced global operator and a skilled geophysical contractor. The solutions developed and field trials performed will help BG Group successfully address technology challenges across a broad range of conventional and unconventional assets.”

Lionel Lhommet, Executive Vice President, Geomarkets & Global Marketing, CGGVeritas, said: “We are pleased to have signed this TCA which heralds a new era of partnership with BG Group. Working together will ensure that CGGVeritas fully understands the exploration and reservoir characterization needs of BG Group in all the diverse and worldwide areas where they operate. This will enable us to develop innovative tailored seismic technologies to best resolve their specific subsurface imaging challenges.”
