AGR Field Operations announced today that they have appointed Jan Smid as their Country Manager in Brazil. Mr. Smid will be responsible for the expansion in the Brazilian Oil & Gas market. In addition to this, Jan will support the roll-out of all AGR Field Operations products and services in other South American markets.

Jan brings 23 years of experience working within the inspection and subsea integrity industry in Brazil for several Brazilian and international companies. Mr. Smid brings with him a wealth of experience from his previous roles, most recently as the General Manager with Marine Production Systems do Brasil, a division of Oceaneering. Other previous work has been with SGS do Brasil, and NDT Brasil.

Scott Thetford – SVP Americas commented ; “AGR Group Brasil Servicos de Petroleo was established in 2010. The aim was to provide our advanced products and services to the Brazilian energy sector. During 2010, we did projects for the Brazilian market remotely from other locations. With Jan Smid on board, we look forward to ramping up our expansion plans by building up a local business in Brazil as part of the second phase of our drive into this strategic market.”

“AGR Field Operations will bring cutting edge ultrasonic inspection technology for Pipelines, Flexibles and Subsea equipment to the Brazilian market. Our maintenance management systems will provide local operators with world class life-cycle management solutions. These solutions will maximize uptime and preserve the integrity of their assets. The subsea services division will be able to help offshore installations with their hands-on expertise in deepwater OIMR of subsea production systems. We expect to provide these solutions using a local base with highly trained personnel over this next phase of our growth in Brazil.”
