Marine Platforms Limited (“MPL”) and Siem Offshore have agreed to extend the initial interim period for the MRSV (Multi Role Support Vessel) Siem Marlin by an additional firm period of one year until April 2012.
MPL has options to extend the charter by 2 + 1 year.
The Vessel provides services for a subsidiary of Chevron as a field, ROV and subsea installation vessel at the Agbami field 70 nm offshore Nigeria.
GENERAL
The ship, is diesel electric driven (frequency controlled propellers, pumps, fans), ROV-FIELD SUPPORT / SUPPLY & CONSTRUCTION SHIP, which is designed to meet the general off shore supply market, in addition to be specially designed for ROV and light Construction duties, equipped with effi cient azimuth thrusters and a dynamic positioning system (Kongsberg SVC-400 or equal) for safe and economic service World wide.
The ship with its diesel electric propulsion system and optimized hull lines is designed for low fuel consumption and excellent sea-keeping. The high focus on reduced fuel consumption means also lesser emission to the environment.
MT 6017 Mk.II is designed according to the class notation “Clean Class” and “COMF-V rate 3”. This in addition to low noise and vibration in hull and superstructure ensure high comfort for the crew and personnel onboard.
