Australia’s engineering firm Worley has picked up a multi-year renewal of its assignment in the North Sea with CNOOC International, a subsidiary of China’s CNOOC, supporting the operator’s offshore operations on the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS).
Worley has obtained a five-year renewal of its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) framework agreement with CNOOC International’s UK business , including the Scott , Buzzard , and Golden Eagle fields.
The Australian firm’s scope includes engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, completions and decommissioning services, from like-for-like replacements through to complex brownfield modifications and larger project scopes.
The company stated: “Over the past 12 years, Worley has delivered more than 1,100 scopes of work under the previous framework agreement, helping CNOOC maintain the integrity and performance of its offshore assets.
“This proven delivery record, combined with deep asset knowledge, enables Worley to provide efficient solutions that minimise operational disruption and maximise value. Safety remains central to the partnership, having executed more than five million work hours without a lost time incident in 12 years.”
While extending a long-standing partnership between the two companies, the award reinforces Worley’s long-term commitment to the North Sea and the Aberdeen area, and supports the continued development of the regional energy supply chain.

Worley recently completed front-end engineering designs (FEEDs) for two critical infrastructure packages in the development of Inpex’s Abadi LNG project , which is expected to contribute to Indonesia’s energy security and support its net zero 2060 goals.
