A new company providing a comprehensive range of consultancy and support services to the worldwide marine, construction, drilling and floating production industries has been established in Aberdeen.

Maritime Assurance & Consulting Ltd (MAC) has been launched by Graeme Reid, who has more than 15 years industry experience and is the former Aberdeen-based European Managing Director of global offshore and marine consulting firm, Noble Denton Consultants Ltd.

Mr Reid was also Aberdeen-headquartered Poseidon Maritime (UK) Ltd’s, Operations Director prior to its acquisition by Noble Denton in 2007.

The independent company will focus on three main business areas; marine assurance and consulting, engineering assurance and consulting and dynamic positioning assurance and consulting. Its aim is to provide clients with significant risk control to safeguard reputation at operational, project, management and corporate levels.

MAC has quickly established itself within the marketplace and has already secured a number of contracts with major operators and contracting companies in the oil and gas industry – including a significant project with Subsea 7 – since its launch at the start of the month.

Managing Director, Mr Reid, has already recruited four employees and expects MAC’s workforce to reach double figures within the first twelve months of operation. He says quality customer service is at the heart of MAC’s offering and believes exciting times lie ahead for the company.

Mr Reid said: “We are an Aberdeen-based company with a global reach and our aim is to use the experience and technical knowledge of our team to provide a high quality, value for money service with a strong focus on meeting clients’ needs and building long-term relationships. I believe our commitment to ensuring clients receive an exceptional level of service will quickly cement our reputation within the industry, enable us to grow the business and help us attract more talented, knowledgeable and innovative people to MAC.

“Things have got off to a great start this month and I am confident that during the remainder of 2011 we will establish a strong foothold in the marketplace as we offer a reliable, high quality alternative to clients’ in-house resources, providing the highest levels of practical experience, industry knowledge, know-how, contacts and confidentiality.”
