Norway: Bergen Group Offshore Bags EPCI Modification Contract on Statfjord B&C

Bergen Group Offshore has, through its subsidiary Bergen Group Rosenberg AS, been awarded an offshore modification project by Statoil Petroleum AS .

The contract value for the project is estimated to NOK 20-25 million(USD $4million).

The EPCI-contract (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) involves modifications to the Statfjord B and C platforms to upgrade the control system for the diesel engines for generators and fire water pumps. The project also involves preparations for and assistance in connection with the systems commissioning.

The planning and engineering activities will commence immediately from Bergen Group Rosenberg’s offices at Buøy, Stavanger. The Offshore Installation and commissioning is scheduled to for completion in Q3 2012.

“This project is of strategic importance for Bergen Group Offshore” , says

Kristin Færøvik, Executive Vice President at Bergen Group Offshore and CEO at Bergen Group Rosenberg.

“Modifications to platform controls systems represent a steady portfolio of projects from our clients in the years to come, and by this award we have demonstrated that a major client such as Statoil recognize our competence within this area” , says Færøvik.

The project will be executed jointly with Norse Technology AS who is main partner to Bergen Group Rosenberg for the project.

Bergen Group has a total of 1,700 employees and approximately 600 of these are associated with Bergen Group Rosenberg, which is one of the major contractors within the oil and gas market to the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Bergen Group is a maritime industrial group with main focus on the offshore industry and advanced vessels. The Group has specialized competence within Shipbuilding, Maritime Service, Offshore and Technology. The offshore-division has well established facilities strategically located in Stavanger, Bergen and Kirkenes.
