Statoil ASA has declared all remaining 3 years options for the Ocean King. The firm period is now until 2nd July 2014.

Ocean King is relocated to the Norne field with Sandnessjøen as base and Crew change port. Statoil’s declaration shows that vessel and Crew have served Statoil in an excellent manner, since 1986!

Ocean King is a multipurpose anchorhandling, tug, supply vessel.

In addition to normal AHTS capabilities, the vessel is capable of providing contingency services such as standby rescue, oil recovery and firefighting services.

The vessel, formerly “Viking Queen”, was built in 1984 at Hellesøy Th Skibsbyggeri. On 27 October 2006 the vessel was purchased by Ocean LanHoy KS and renamed to Ocean King.
