OMS Group has opened a new remote operations center (ROC) in Singapore, dedicated to remote supervision of unmanned surface vessel (USV) operations, real-time monitoring and validation of survey data, and coordinated multi-vehicle operations across geographically dispersed projects.
The ROC, operated by the group’s marine survey business unit OMS Geometra, brings together USV pilots, survey specialists and project teams into one operating environment.
“The ROC is designed as an extension of our survey division, not a separate technology silo,” said Maxime Even , Director, Marine Survey Integration and Operations. “By bringing vessel operations, survey expertise and data into one environment, our teams can maintain operational oversight, validate survey data in real time and coordinate missions effectively. This will also enable us to scale across multiple vessels and locations while maintaining consistent operational and survey standards.”
According to OMS, the facility has been developed with consideration for evolving international frameworks governing remotely operated and autonomous vessels and has completed an inspection against the International Marine Contractors Association’s (IMCA) M272 recommended practice for USV Remote Operation Centre inspections.
“Unmanned survey is not a concept project for OMS.
