On April.22.2011, a grand naming ,delivery & acceptance ceremony for NO.1 92500DWT BC “INDUS PROSPERITY” (Hull NO: SF060137), built for Indian MSPL company, was held in SF shipbuilding Co. Ltd, Yongan site.
Among the participants were representatives from Gaogang district committee, Gaogang district government, Taizhou Marine Bureau, Indian MSPL company, ABS classification society, Taizhou SF shipyard, SDARI design institute, Construction Bank of China Taizhou branch etc.
MS Qi, president of SF shipyard, was invited to be god mother to name the vessel “INDUS PROSPERITY”。NO.1 92500DWT bulk carrier is the largest vessel that has ever been built in SF shipyard in terms of its deadweight tonnage and is the first one of this series of vessels being built for MSPL company by SF shipyard. Its design and construction conforms to the global shipping trend of being “ Safe, Economical, Healthy and Environment-friendly”. Compared with other vessels of the same kind, it features “Larger tonnage for individual vessel, higher efficiency of environmental protection and energy-savings, better design and technical characteristic ”etc.
This vessel, of which the shipbuilding contract was signed in 2008, successfully passed the sea trial in late March. “INDUS PROSPERITY” is the first one of four sister vessels. Its overall length is 230m, its moulded breadth is 38m and its moulded depth is 20.7 m. It has 7 cargo holds . Its designed service speed is 14.9 knots, its designed draft is 14.9m, its deadweight is about 92500DWT and it is classed with ABS.
Up to now, SF shipyard has delivered 3 vessels . According to schedule, 27 vessels will be delivered, 21 vessels will be block erected and 25 vessels will be launched in 2011, which will bring the shipyard 7 billion Yuan of gross industrial output.
