IOEC Begins Pipe-Laying Operation for South Pars (Iran)

According to the Public Relations Department of IOEC, the company has started pipe-laying operation for South Pars (SP) project phase 16 on 17 May, 2011.

The Project Manager for SP phase 15&16, Abass Haj Ghasemi said that 6 barges are responsible for the loading operation of the pipes for which one has already handed over its pipes to the pip-laying vessel, C-Master stationed at the operation zone. He added, “ C-Master is already present at the project sit and it has started its pipe-laying operation. ”

Haj Ghasemi informed that the installation of crossing supports is underway simultaneously. On that line the construction of 48 “crossing supports” in Isfahan has been concluded and the “mud mat” and “bullard” pieces have been transferred to Assalouyeh for assembly.

He added that the related vessels will perform the preliminary works for installation of crossing supports at the pipeline junctures. He further said, “ Pipe-laying operation for phase 16 of this field will start 5 km from the shore and continue until the 109th km. ” This operation will take between 2 to 2.5 months.
