In its effort to be amongst the first states in the nation to build an offshore wind energy farm, Texas will host the 2nd Texas Offshore Wind Energy Roundtable (TOWER) Conference on October 3rd and 4th in Houston, TX.

The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern US and Texas Wind Energy Clearinghouse are proud to present this event for the second time.

Besides opening speeches by Mayor Annise Parker (invited), City of Houston, Jörg Bode, Minister of Economics for the State of Lower Saxony, and Roland Herrmann, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, the 2nd TOWER Conference is excited to welcome Chris Hart, Offshore Wind Manager, Department of Energy, who will speak on the current offshore wind energy market in the United States.

Commissioner Jerry Patterson of the Texas General Land Office will be giving a Keynote Luncheon on the first day of the conference. Other important market players who will present at the conference include Baryonyx, the Department of Defense, Vestas, Telvent, Global Marine, 4C Offshore and Stahl, Bernal & Davies.

TOWER features more than 25 hours of intensive, cutting-edge information and powerful networking. This year’s program will address the state of the industry globally and locally as well as turbine showcases, installation, ports & infrastructure, offshore wind law, environmental issues and finance & insurance topics. This year, the conference has combined the schedule for TOWER’s technical and policy discussions with OWL’s (Offshore Wind Law) CLE components – the programs run simultaneously in the same conference facility in a two day TOWER/OWL format. This will enable more effective networking opportunities for our attorneys and enable attendees to flow back & forth between technical, policy, permitting, and other topics as they desire. We will submit OWL elements of the TOWER program for State Bar MCLE review, and we anticipate 10-12 CLE hours to be approved.
