Chiyoda Corporation, Japan’s leading engineering and construction firm, announced that agreement has been reached between its subsidiary in Qatar, Chiyoda Almana Engineering, and Qatargas Operating Company Limited for an Engineering, Procurement and Construction management (EPCm) Services Contract on a call-off basis.

CAEL has been selected to provide EPCm services for a total of seven LNG Production lines and other Common facilities owned by Qatargas.

Chiyoda has constructed a considerable number of LNG plants, including all LNG plants owned by Qatargas. CAEL was established by Chiyoda in March, 2008, in collaboration with a local company (Al-Mana Group), mainly to support small to medium sized projects for Qatari clients during the operation & maintenance phases.

CAEL currently has more than 350 employees in Qatar and provides its services to various clients in Qatar, including Qatargas.

Through being awarded this contract, Chiyoda and CAEL will be able to contribute further to Qatargas and to Qatari sustainable development.

Chiyoda Group will also, in the near future, expand such kind of service to cover other counties in the Middle East and elsewhere.
