PEMEX, a Mexican state-owned petroleum company, announces that it will continue search and rescue operations for 10 Geokenetics’ workers , who went missing after having been evacuated today at 12:30 hours from the jackup structure named “Trinity II” owned by the company .
The two vessels sent by Pemex to search for the workers, have had no success due to bad weather conditions along the Tabasco coast, caused by the tropical storm “Nate”, which threatens to turn into a hurricane.
Tropical storm conditions are expected to continue along the coast of Mexico today, and Hurricane Center expects Nate will produce total rain accumulations of 4 to 6 inches. Rain accumulations could go as high as 12 inches over the Mexican states Campeche , Tabasco and Veracruz.
Storm surge is expected to raise water levels by 1 to 3 feet above normal tide levels along the immediate coast, National Hurricane Center reports.
