The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted BG Norge AS consent to carry out manned underwater operations (MUO).
The consent relates to saturation diving in connection with development of the Gaupe field. The water depth at the site is 82 to 90 metres.
Gaupe is located at the border between the Norwegian and UK sector, approx. 12 kilometres south of Varg.
The field will be developed with a subsea facility with two wells tied in to the Armada facility on the UK shelf.
The work is scheduled to start in September 2011, and has an estimated duration of 30 days, of which 12 of the days will take place on the Norwegian shelf.
The underwater operations will be carried out by the company Technip UK with the DSV Skandi Arctic diving vessel.
