Russia: Gazprom Participates in International Investment Forum “Sochi – 2011”

Led by Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, the Company’s delegation is participating in the International Investment Forum “Sochi – 2011”.

As part of the Forum, Alexey Miller had a number of meetings with global energy companies heads: Paolo Scaroni, Chief Executive Officer of Eni; Harald Schwager, Member of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE; Henri Proglio, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of EDF and Rainer Seele, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Wintershall Holding GmbH. Among the issues discussed were the development prospects for the European gas market and, in particular, natural gas supply and demand.

The parties expressed contentment with the South Stream project implementation highlighting that the creation of new transnational gas trunkline would play a significant role in providing energy security for European consumers.

A meeting between Alexey Miller and Marcel Kramer, Chief Executive Officer of the South Stream project took place during the Forum. The parties underlined that the project was progressing according to the preset schedules.

Alexey Miller also met with Christophe de Margerie, Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors Chairman of Total SA. The discussion centered on the current activities as part of preparations for Phase 1 of the Shtokman field pre-development. The parties appreciated the comprehensive Final Investment Decision being jointly elaborated for Phase 1 of the project.
