Veidekke Entreprenør AS has entered into a contract with Statoil ASA in connection with the construction of a new test facility for a subsea compressor at K-lab on Kårstø. The total value of the contract is approx. NOK 115 million, excluding VAT.

K-lab is Statoil’s specialised laboratories for large scale testing of gas flow, compression and meetering. Veidekke is going to build a cast test pool with collar and crane rail around the pool where the foundations will be steel core piles. A Local Equipment Room 350 m 2 in size is also to be built with an underground cable basement and a section for transformer and technical installations. In addition, the contract includes the building of a process plate, the supply and installation of a culvert for electrical cables and instrument cables and foundations for technical pipes and seawater pipes.

The building has already commenced, and work is to be completed in the second quarter of 2012.
