CTC Marine Projects, Ltd., , a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group Holding AS , has been awarded a multi-million pound contract by SBM France SA for transportation, installation and burial works in the Anguille Field, Gabon.

Working in West Africa for only the second time, CTC will utilise the Maersk Recorder to perform the workscope, which will include collection of the power cable from Hartlepool, UK. The Maersk Recorder will lay 4 kilometres of cable, including a 650 metre beach pull and cable joint, and will be assisted by one of CTC’s jet trenchers to undertake the burial of 49 kilometres of power cable along the route.

The 75 day workscope, for ultimate client TOTAL Gabon, is expected to commence in field in late December 2011, following the vessel’s mobilisation.

Martin Moon, Managing Director , said of the contract award, “ We are delighted to have secured this workscope with SBM, which will see the Maersk Recorder operational throughout the winter season.”
