Azerbaijan: SOCAR Welcomes Japanese Delegation

On November 23, SOCAR President Mr. Rovnag Abdullayev met with a delegation led by Mr. Yoichi Kobayashi, Itochu Corporation’s vice president and co-chair of the Azerbaijan-Japan Intergovernmental Commission.

Welcoming the guests, Mr. Abdullayev noted the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Japan. Mr. Abdullayev noted the importance of energy, oil and gas production spheres in cooperation with Japan. According to him, companies of friend country participate actively in consumption of hydrocarbon reserves of Caspian Sea.

Itochu Corporation’s vice president Mr. Yoichi Kobayashi noted that the 7th meeting of Azerbaijan-Japan intergovernmental commission in Baku would support the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries. Afterwards, he presented the members of delegation to SOCAR President. The representatives of Itochu, Mitsubishi, Rotobo, and Marubeni corporations expressed their interest in cooperation with Azerbaijan’s various spheres. Informing about significant regional projects, SOCAR President also spoke about the exploration of new fields, domestic and foreign investment projects. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Japan, as well as Ambassador of Japan to Azerbaijan.
