Statoil has restarted production on two offshore oil platforms after they were shut on Friday due to severe weather conditions alert.
Statoil’s spokesperson Ola Andres Skauby told Reuters that the company on Saturday resumed operations at the Aasgard and Heidrun platforms in the Norwegian sea but did not provide an update on Njord facility.
No incidents on any of the platforms have been reported.
The Åsgard field is situated in the Norwegian Sea, about 200 kilometres off mid-Norway and ranks among the largest developments on the Norwegian continental shelf, embracing a total of 52 wells drilled through 16 seabed templates. It lies 50 km south of Heidrun field which was discovered in 1985 by Conoco, which served as operator for the exploration and development phase.
