OOCL Receives More Awards from Lloyd’s List at Ceremony in Melbourne, Australia

At the 16th Annual Lloyd’s List Australian Shipping and Maritime Industry Awards ceremony held on November 24, 2011, OOCL was honored to be presented with the ‘Liner Trade Award – Australia-South East Asia’ and also came ‘Highly Commended’ for the ‘Liner Trade Award for Australia-North East Asia’ in front of more than 400 senior industry executives and business partners.

The celebration was held in Melbourne, Australia, this year and gathered the best in Australia’s shipping, ports, and maritime industry to recognize the achievements of the finest performers in 16 categories. “OOCL is very pleased to be voted by the industry for our excellent customer service to our clients.” sad OOCL . The essential criteria for customer satisfaction is a combination of IT and communication capabilities, availability of equipment, cargo tracking capabilities, responding to customer complaints, procedures to deal with agencies such as Customs and AQIS and testimonials from customers.

OOCL is delighted with the recognition after having just been awarded the ‘Ship Operator of the Year’ at the Lloyd’s List Awards, Asia 2011 last month in Hong Kong.

In his remarks on this success, Mr. Eddy Declercq, Managing Director of OOCL Australia said, “This is a remarkable achievement considering the tough economic environment this year. Although we are heading for some difficult global circumstances in the shipping industry again, the awards are certainly a strong reminder to all OOCL colleagues, as well as our partners and customers, that we have a product and an organization that is ready to face the hard times head-on and with confidence. We will forge ahead to ride through the storm and come out even stronger together.”
