Russia: Rosneft Plans to Begin 3D Seismic Survey in Barents Sea

Russian based oil and gas corporation Rosneft plans to begin a 3D seismic survey in the southern part of the Barents Sea in summer season 2012, said Rosneft head Eduard Khudainatov. “Next year we’ll commence seismic survey. Russian based oil and gas corporation Rosneft plans to begin a 3D seismic survey in the southern part of the Barents Sea in summer season 2012, said Rosneft head Eduard Khudainatov.

“Next year we’ll commence seismic survey. In May, the ship should be there, in July or August, maybe we’ll start” , RIA Novosti cited Mr. Khudainatov.

Rosneft is the leader of Russia’s petroleum industry, and ranks among the world’s top publicly traded oil and gas companies. The Company is primarily engaged in exploration and production of hydrocarbons, production of petroleum products and petrochemicals, and marketing of outputs. Rosneft has been included in the Russian Government’s List of Strategic Enterprises and Organizations. The state holds 75.16% in the Company (through OJSC ROSNEFTEGAZ), while approximately 15% of shares are in free-float.
