Severn Trent De Nora wins orders for its OMNIPURE™ Marine Sewage Treatment Systems for Installation on drillships owned by Noble Corporation subsidiary. The OMNIPURE system has been selected for use in drillships being constructed by Hyundai Heavy Industries.
The OMNIPURE™ Series 55 marine sewage treatment system from Severn Trent De Nora has been selected for use on four new ultra-deepwater drillships being constructed for a subsidiary of Noble Corporation by Hyundai Heavy Industries at its shipyard in Ulsan, Korea.
Hyundai Heavy Industries purchased eight customized OMNIPURE systems to treat black and gray water on-board the drillships. Each drillship will be fitted with two OMNPURE systems, accommodating a total personnel capacity of 210 per drillship. The first set of OMNIPURE systems will be delivered in December 2011, with the second set due for delivery in April 2012, the third set in November 2012 and the fourth in April 2013.
The OMNIPURE Series 55 units are specifically manufactured for offshore oil and gas installations requiring permanent or long-term operation for the treatment of marine sewage. The rugged design of the OMNIPURE Series 55 units is well suited for the rigors of these markets. The OMNIPURE system was selected by Hyundai Heavy Industries for its minimal maintenance and light-weight, space-saving package design.
The OMNIPURE technology utilizes a unique electrolytic treatment technology combined with electrocoagulation in a proprietary and certified treatment process to effectively treat wastewater and provide sanitary solids for handling. Effective solids management is imperative to marine sanitation treatment systems since it directly affects operator exposure to biological hazards. OMNIPURE features a “hands off” solids waste handling approach for the offshore marine environment, providing a sanitary solids handling system with minimal operator attendance requirements.
The OMNIPURE Series 55 systems have received Bureau Veritas certification per IMO Resolution MEPC.159(55) and USCG Certificate of Approval to MEPC.159(55).
